About the Asdonk Clinics

Dear Patients and guests,

the Feldbergklinik Dr. Asdonk is the world‘s oldest specialized clinic for edemas and lymphatic obstructions. It was established in 1973 and has treated and helped over 30.000 patients ever since then.

Its founder, Dr. Johannes Asdonk, M.D., proved scientiffically the efficiency of the Manual Lymphdrainage and integrated it into clinical medicine. This is how he achieved, that health insurances could pay for this treatment.

To honour this outstanding medical achievment, he was given the order of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Feldbergklinik by defintition is a so called „Clinic of Rehabilitation“. It also provides Medical treatment subsequent to surgical treatments in other hospitals.

The Feldbergklinik is specialized to treat any kind of lymphatic obstructions. This includes the treatments of lymph- and lipedemas, regardless of its origins, for example consequences of oncological treatments or traumatic experiences.

We provide various tratments regarding lymphological preventive care, as well as the treatments of the actual damage in the lymphatic system itself. We also take care of the most common diseases which occur as a consequence of the lymphatic disease, such as obesity.

The Seeklinik Zechlin is the first clinic specialized in edema treatment in former East Germany. It was founded in 1995 and has over 90 beds.

In both clinics the therapy itself is done only by highly skilled and trained therapists. In 1969 Dr. Asdonk also founded several Institutes for Masseurs to teach them the specialties of the Manual Lymphdrainage as well the knowledge of the medical background of the treatments. By now the Asdonk Schools for Manua Lymphdrainagetherapists have successfully trained more than 35.000 therapists.

The therapyconcept of the Feldbergklinik is basically characterized by years of ex- perience with all kinds of occurences of the disease. It improves day by day and is fitted to every single one of our patients. This and the impoving health conditions of our patients are important reasons for the trust, that is set in us over and over again.
